The components for the 90prime filter wheel have been machined and are currently being assembled. See more photos at the Pictures Page.

The 90prime team conducted an engineering run on May 24th and 25th, 2002. During the run we obtained focused images and used curvature sensing software to determine the optical misalignment. The optical system was adjusted several times to tweak the alignment. During this run we used just one 4k x 4k CCD, the final system will utilize an array of four 4k x 4k CCDs. Example unprocessed images are shown below (click on an image to view its full sized version). North is toward the left and East is toward the top.

Point Spread Function = 3.5 pixels * 0.45 arcsec/pixel = 1.6 arcsec

The 90prime corrector optics have returned from ZC&R in Torrance, CA where they were succesfully AR coated.

The 90prime corrector optics were delivered to ZC&R in Torrance, CA to be AR coated. The coating will take an estimated 4 weeks.
